During the production phase, Tender Loving Abuse was planned as the lead single from the album. Once the album was complete and the new, reworked version of Silent movie was presented to the record company Legend Music, Tender Loving Abuse was bumped to be the 2nd single.

When the time came to sample the track to radio as the 2nd single, the tolerance for rock music at the SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) has diminished, and the track was rejected.

Years later, local rock band Pyramid Tongue covered the song. Their version was play listed by the SABC, and featured co-vocals with Deon du Toit. The track was also produced by Jon Buckley.

Toxic Shame was born when the paths of Jon Buckley and Deon du Toit crossed in 1995. Both being extremely talented musicians, they found that they had plenty in common and decided to get together one evening per week to write and record songs purely for their own enjoyment.
