Circles was planned as the 3rd single from Tender Loving Abuse to be sent to Regional Radio Stations in South Africa.

Toxic Shame had already recorded the followup album to Tender Loving Abuse by this time, and the band chose to launch the new album rather than continue to work Tender Loving Abuse.

The record company reluctantly agreed and launched the new album Kicking and Screaming instead.
